About the Art
Wood burning art, also known as pyrography, is the art of illustrating wood with burn marks made by a heated element. In the old days, hot pokers were used. Now, modern equipment resembles soldering irons with removable tips of different widths and shapes. Regardless of the equipment, the true beauty of pyrography is determined by the skill of the artist.
